Ayutthaya - Origin, Security and Administration.

The hinterland ruler roughly between the 12th and 15th century extracted resources from the land and the forests by the command of manpower.

                          

They Built walled cities to provide protection, accumulated sacred goods to attract pilgrims and devotes, and raided outlying areas and competing centres to carry away people.

                                               

In David Wyatt's classic account, Ayutthaya also inherited much from Angkor, in less than 60 years of foundation; was on the verge of becoming the most powerful in the interstate relations of mainland Southeast Asia. 

Thus, in these version Ayutthaya from the start is a hinterlands state with territorial administration.
